No Depression Fest (Feat. Lucinda Williams, The Swell Season), Jakob Dylan, and The National Top Marymoor's Lineup
Marymoor Park has some good news in its summer calender, which was released this morning, including ...
The Swell Season's already scoping out their seats for No Depression Fest, Aug. 21 at Marymoor Park.
Sat., Aug. 14: Robert Randolph & the Family Band, Jakob Dylan, The BoDeans (For The Mountain's Music Festival): Robert Randolph's last record, Colorblind, was a little on the hokey side, but he's an incendiary pedal steel guitarist, and his shows transcend what he throws down on record. Jakob Dylan's touring behind his T-Bone Burnett-produced record, Woman and Country, which features Neko Case and Kelly Hogan (of Case's band) on backing vocals. The pair have been backing him, live, too, so fingers crossed they'll make this show.
Sat., Aug. 21: No Depression Festival, featuring The Swell Season, Lucinda Williams, The Cave Singers, Alejandro Escovedo, Chuck Prophet, Punch Brothers, Sera Cahoone: This is killer. Great lineup for a festival that will celebrate year #2 this summer. Listen for more of the new material that The Cave Singers have been kicking around.
Sat., Sept. 11: The National: Yesterday I finally figured out how to hook up my computer to my stereo system. The occasion? I wanted to listen to the band's forthcoming album High Violet (It's not out til May 11, but it's streaming at NYTimes.com) while I read the profile of the band in NYT Magazine. So far, it's not moving me the same way that Boxer has, but I guess it's a bit soon for judgement. For those of you not attending the sold-out Sasquatch! Fest next month, this is your next local chance to see these guys.
Full lineup, including Seattle's/John Mayer's favorite, Michael Franti, after the jump.
