Steve Jobs: Genius or bully?
-- Pitchfork has some nice things to say about the 206 this morning: They tossed Damien Jurado's Saint Bartlett a 7.9 saying, "The songs on Saint Bartlett would be considered an achievement for any artist-- but the fact that they come 13 years into a career makes the album even more of a triumph." Reviewing Shabazz Palaces EPs, Shabazz Palaces and Of Light, Larry Fitzmaurice says, "The beats are dense and, at times, haunted; at the same time, this shit would sound great booming out of passing car windows."

-- Wall Street Journal: Is Apple a big, bad music-industry bully? The Department of Justice is checking into it.

-- NY Mag: Liam Gallagher's post-Oasis band featuring his Oasis bandmates is called ... Beady Eye. And if you can hear that name without thinking about the scene in So I Married An Axe Murderer, "I hated the Colonel, with his wee beady eyes, and that smug look on his face, 'Oh, you're going to buy my chicken, oh oh!'" then you're a stronger man than I am.

-- NYT: M.I.A.'s getting the NYT Magazine treatment this week: "While American rappers today tend to celebrate sex, wealth and status, Maya, who grew up listening to the politicized rhymes of Public Enemy, takes international dance beats and meshes them with the very un-American voice of the militant rebel."

-- Express: Ronnie Wood's putting The Faces back together -- most likely without Rod Stewart -- which may be problematic if the Stones decide to capitalize on the success of their Exile re-issue. And the Stones are nothing if not proud capitalists, right?
