-- NY Times: On Tennessee's massive Bonnaroo music festival, which wrapped over the weekend: "Bonnaroo's setup, on 650 acres owned by the festival's promoters, pays tribute to hippie nostalgia, with a rainbow-shaped entrance gate and tall bobble-head statues of figures like Jerry Garcia. Exhibits and recycling stations strive to instill environmental virtue (which can't make up for the actual impact of vehicles and trash from the festival)."

-- NME: Paul McCartney on Jimi Hendrix at Isle Of Wight Festival last night: "I was really lucky to know Jimi and hang out with him a little bit in the '60s, he was a great guy," he told the audience. "The biggest tribute we had from him was we [The Beatles] released 'Sgt Pepper' on a Friday and then I went to see him on the Sunday and he learnt it, how cool was that for me? Very cool!"

-- Les Claypool is bringing Primus and "The Oddity Faire" to the WaMu Theatre on September 24. Ticket pre-sale begins Thursday.

-- Spinner: U2's Adam Clayton is staying busy while the band's tour is on hold by suing the band's money manager for negligence.

-- Rawkblog: Ryan Adams' ability to quickly turn out above-average albums (See Cold Roses, Jacksonville City Nights) makes the rest of us look--whatever our occupation--like professional slackers. Now comes word that he's got a couple unreleased albums that have just hit wax. Damn.
