The 7 Greatest Paul McCartney Covers: Jack White, Tina Turner, Foo Fighters, Bob Dylan, and More

Tomorrow night I'm super-stoked to be going to Benaroya to see "Live and Let Die," the Seattle Symphony's tribute to the music of Paul McCartney. In anticipation, here are my top 7 McCartney covers of all time -- add to it if you want!

Jack White, "Mother Nature's Son" -- Earlier this summer, McCartney became the first non-American to win The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. During the ceremony, he sat next to the First Family while the weird and pasty Jack White performed this awesome cover of "Mother Nature's Son," off the White Album.

Billy Paul, "Let 'Em In" -- Soul singer Billy Paul isn't terribly well known, but his cover of Wings' "Let 'Em In" charted in the UK in 1977. Paul sneakily replaced the people knocking on the door -- in his version, it's Louis Armstrong, Brother Martin, and a whole new cast of characters.

Bob Dylan, "Yesterday" -- Many, many artists have covered "Yesterday" (over 1,600). Dylan's is just about a classic in its own right.

Ike & Tina Turner, "Get Back" -- Tina howling at her best.

Screamin' Jay Hawkins, "Monkberry Moon Delight" -- Somewhere in between fathering an estimated 75 children, the "I Put a Spell on You" singer found some time in the 70s to record this cover of "Monkberry," originally on McCartney's Ram.

Foo Fighters, "Band on the Run" -- Foo Fighters aren't my favorite band, but their "Band on the Run" is undeniably rocking.

Aretha Franklin, "Let It Be" -- Gospel-infused, reverent, stunning.
