Your Four Best Options For Live Music Tonight: High Places, Nelson, Greg Dulli, Bronze Fawn

If you're looking to get out tonight and start your weekend off early, it happens to be a happening night for live music:

1. High Places at Vera: Gorgeous, introspective electronic music of which I am a huge fan (see above video for "The Longest Shadow"), plus local favorite Tiny Vipers is opening. 7:30 p.m. $10. All ages.

2. Nelson at the King Cat: Ricky Nelson's kids are doing a tribute to Pops. Last week, Gunnar Nelson told Mike Seely, "We wanted to make our own mark before we explored the idea of going down that other road. Now what we've got is the 25th anniversary of our dad's passing, and that's what we're marking." (They also talked about hair styles and Gunnar's respect for Miley Cyrus). 7 p.m. $24. All ages.

3. Greg Dulli at the Crocodile: For all the sad sacks amongst us. Dulli's going to perform songs from his various musical projects -- the Afghan Whigs, Gutter Twins, Twilight Singers. Perhaps he'll preview songs from the forthcoming Twilight Singers album. 8 p.m. $19.

4. Bronze Fawn at Neumos: Check out this killer lineup -- Bronze Fawn headlines with openers The Kindness Kind, Blue Light Curtain, and my girlfriends Eighteen Individual Eyes. On a less exciting, its Bronze Fawn's farewell show -- meaning your last chance to see the local hard rockers live. 8 p.m. $8.
