Today Reverb Recommends Getting Involved With Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Wings" Video on the Ground Level--There Are Rewards!

Seattle's reigning hip-hop duo turned a lot of heads with their most recent drop "Wings"--an "ode" to Air Jordans that got the Denny Middle School choir treatment. And though a video collaboration with Zia Mohajerjasbi (of "The Town" fame) is due out in March, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis need your help to make it a reality. With the help of Kickstarter, the three are looking to shore up a working budget, and true to form the project is over a quarter of the way to its goal less than 24 hours after beginning the push.

The multi-layered narrative of "Wings" incorporates the personal story of Macklemore and extends outward to several generations who hold the Nike Jordans shoe line as a touchstone of their youth.

All proceeds generated from the Kickstarter campaign will go to covering basic production costs that will allow for an uncompromised final product. A typical music video of this caliber would require a budget of well over $100,000. We hope to raise a minimum of $10,000 so that our work can hold its own.

Not only is the project worthy, but donations are rewarded: $10 gets you a download of the video in HD, $50 equals a limited-edition signed "Wings" poster, $125 earns one of the first (signed) copies of the duo's forthcoming full-length record, and more than $500 will get you all of the above plus a personal phone call from the artists. If simply supporting the project wasn't enough, those are some pretty sweet incentives.
