Also Tonight: Ear Candy Blog Finally Dies, Guerrilla Candy Officially Begins. Officially
Our friend and colleague Travis Hay has taken in on the chin in recent years. After freelancing for the P-I forEVER, he finally scored a regular column. Then the P-I went through some changes, and away the column went. Then the daily newspaper he was writing for in eastern Washington went through some changes, and away the paycheck went. ![]()
What he had--and what could not be taken away--was his music blog, Ear Candy, peppered with reported bits and reviews of Seattle music. Then up came a multinational company with a cease-and-desist letter. There goes "Ear Candy."
For the last two years, Hay has been building a "new" music blog, Guerrilla Candy. Tonight at the High Dive, Hay is celebrating the official grand opening of the blog, and he's lined up one hell of a bill: My Goodness, one of our favorites (natch), Hounds of the Wild Hunt, Hot Bodies in Motion, and Hobosexual will be performing at a party hosted by Brent Amaker.
Tickets are $10. The show starts at 9 p.m. And Travis loves a good Sex on the Beach.
