Today Reverb Recommends Listening to "Holdin' On to Black Metal," My Morning Jacket's Most Questionable Song Yet
A couple weeks ago, My Morning Jacket released the title track from their May 31 record, Circuital, a track that sounded exactly like the soft, reverb-laden cuts from the band's past that had a million MMJ fans crying copycat when Fleet Foxes reached the critical consciousness. Today, fans of Rocky are going to wonder if Jim James enlisted the "Gonna Fly Now" Children's Choir for the second helping from the new record.
If "Holdin' On to Black Metal" isn't the most questionable bit of self-indulgence James has issued yet, I don't know what is. Listen for yourself on the band's Facebook page. Warning: You have to "Like" the page before you can listen. Yikes.
