Today Reverb Recommends Adding 20 Free Songs to Your iTunes to Celebrate Lollapalooza
Ninety-nine percent of the time, free things come with a "catch," but Spin magazine has bypassed all the asterisks to offer a legitimately no-cost mix of the best songs during Lollapalooza's last 20 years.
Les Claypool of Primus. Moby never stood a chance.
The album can be downloaded for the grand cost of $0.00 through iTunes, and boasts some A+ material, including the live performance of "Ocean" by the John Butler Trio at Lollapalooza 2008. (If you've never witnessed the magic that is "Ocean," hop over to YouTube while the album downloads.)
Also on the ballot is "An Echo From the Hosts That Profess Infinitium" by Seattle's own Shabazz Palaces (who put on the best show ever at Neumos on July 1, according to Chris Kornelis), "It Beats 4 U" by My Morning Jacket, and "My Time" by another Seattle favorite, Minus the Bear.
The album might be free, but of course there's a small catch--Moby.
(Luckily Les Claypool counteracts any negativity absorbed by the infamous bald one.)
Check out the full list below, then head to iTunes and enter the code EHLA7XKEJ73N under "Redeem" on the main page (beneath Quick Links). Don't waste too much time getting your mind blown by "Ocean," however. The mix is available until July 31.
