Today Reverb Recommends You Mark Your Calendar for The National's Two-Night Stand at the Neptune
The National is one of those bands that I listen to so much and so intently for periods of time that I literally forget they exist during the downtime. Their haunting, immaculately crafted songs are among the best of the era, and their slow-burning, radiant live shows surprise with their bubbling intensity with a grin. They sound exactly like Renee's picture above.
Renee McMahon The National plays the Neptune on November 30 and Dec. 1. Tickets are $49.50 and the shows are all-ages.
The band recently announced a short string of shows--a victory lap, of sorts--to wrap up promotion of their 2010 record High Violet. They'll be joined by Local Natives and Wye Oak at these pleasantly intimate shows.
If you've gotta be at the show(s), getting tickets as soon as they go on sale, Thursday, is highly advised.
