Today Reverb Recommends Making Preparations for the Apocalypse, Because Korn's New "Dubstep" Album Probably Signals It

Just when you thought that October's Lou Reed/Metallica collaboration was a shoe-in for worst major-label release of the year, a new challenger to the title has stepped up in a big way. Tomorrow, nu metal titans Korn will release their dubstep-influenced 10th studio album The Path of Totality, which features collaborations with prominent electronic producers like Skrillex, Noisa, Excision, and 12th Planet. Needless to say, based off a few tracks which have found their way onto Youtube, it's going to be bad--earth-shatteringly, fire-and-brimstone bad. And if this doesn't identify the intended audience (alternative-rock radio/nu metal fans, who listen to what is essentially a bastardized version of grunge that rose to prominence in the early '00s) of mainstream dubstep (a bastardization of an electronic music subgenre that began in London in the early '00s), I don't know what does.

Click through the jump to hear "Get Up," the album's lead single and one of its three Skrillex collaborations. Warning: If you woke up in a bad mood this Monday morning, it will probably put you in a worse one.
