Fashion Faux Pas to Fashion Fabulous

When my female date for the evening crapped out on me, I turned to my boyfriend who graciously agreed to accompany me to the Ruby Room's Charity Fashion Show on Saturday night. He worried that it would be a bunch of self-important assholes but was pleasantly surprised to find not one ounce of pretension in the whole joint. Everyone was friendly and lovely and no one was taking themselves too seriously, especially the hostess for the evening, the phenomenal drag queen Chinchilla Von Schwamp who was joined by her lovely co-hostess Ms. Plus Washington.
The dresses created by local fashion designers from cast-off Ruby Room frocks ranged from exquisite ensembles to thrown-together messes. Luckily each designer had the opportunity to show some pieces from their upcoming line so we could see what they were really all about. The dress in the picture above was by far my favorite of the night designed by House of Alidoro. We sneaked out just as the auction was starting but from what we caught, it looked like the Ruby Room was going to make a nice chunk of money. Overall, it was a fun night and many thanks to my trooper of a boyfriend.
