Tom Tomorrow's New Book
With his cartoon one of best thing in our pages each week, Tom Tomorrow has a fat choice of national targets to satirize--Bush, Cheney, McCain, etc. He stopped by our office couple year ago, and he's a smart, well-mannered dude--not at all the caricature of an angry Bay Area liberal. His new collection is The Future's So Bright, I Can't Bear to Look (Nation Books, $16.95), and it's a perfect gift during the present campaign season. Tomorrow (his pen name, obvs) also runs his own Web site and is syndicated in the Village Voice and other members of our alt-weekly chain. He's just one of several SW contributors with books in the publishing pipeline. Scott Meyer, of our Basic Instructions strip, already has his first collection out. And Uptight Seatteite is hard at work on his first tome.
