Betty Woot
Upper Queen Anne is weird. It's like an island. Most people who live there have the cash to dine out often, but restaurants still go out of business all the time. Enter Betty: The second restaurant from Craig Serbousek and Jesse Thomas, owners of Crow. The menu is in the same spirit of Crow, bistro classics with maybe a hint of an Italian accent. I spied a meatball sub, a rocket salad, oysters, and the steak is under $20. The space is big enough, smart enough, and priced fair enough for habitual dining and wining--with an actual lounge area to encourage a maximum of neighborly drop ins.In fact, the layout is fantastic, divided for the enjoyment of all. There's the chef's counter as you walk in, perfect for the Aries or Capricorn who likes to get in the thick of things. Geminis and Sagittarius can hold court at the bar past the dining room. The string of banquette two tops are for the social and tolerant Libras and Pisces to make friends with the neighbors and gather in large groups. Booths line the middle of the space, for the prickly Cancers and orderly Virgos who need their own space. A cozy nook of a lounge in the back waits for a Taurus or intense Scorpio to work their magic, and Aquarius and Leo will love the variety available for their whims.
