Official Tasting Notes: It's not that the Salmon was bad, I just don't have anything good to say. It didn't taste fresh, and needed something to liven it up. Really, just a bland taste that felt like a chore to chomp through. The fish portion was sizable, but as I was unimpressed with the salmon, I quickly turned my attention to the affected carrots, potatoes, and asparagus on the plate. Well done, but not plentiful enough to overcome my disappointment with the salmon.
Truthfully, I was probably just so envious of my friends' Philly steak sandwiches that buyers remorse ruined the salmon. They looked wonderful, came with a side of garic fries, and had my peeps raving. Next time I know what to order.
Random Detail: Our waiter was very attentive, and had a great attitude, and seemed to read my and friends and I well. Let's just say that he wouldn't have thrown down some of those comments if my mom had been dining with us. And we appreciated it, though his last comment had me scratching my head. When my extremely full friends noted their situation, he said something about how after one of those sandwiches he needs a nap ... and a "greasy boob." Huh?
E-mail follow up with my friends, two hours after lunch:
Friend 1: "I don't feel well..."
Friend 2: "I just took a little nap."
Friend 1: "I hate you."
Me: "Should we have happy hour at the same place in an hour?"
Friend 1: "I could give them some of their sandwich back."
