An Evening with a Nose

If you want the dirt on the perfume industry, you might want to meet New York Times "scent critic" Chandler Burr, author of A Perfect Scent: A Year Inside the Perfume Industry in Paris and New York.

In his book, Burr explores how luxury perfume brands create their signature scents, and how stand-by's like Chanel No. 5 are structured. At this event, Burr will take guests through a perfume clinic, and -- over appetizers and sparkling wine -- talk about what's up with every celebrity having her own eau de toilette. The event includes a signed copy of the book.
