Frank Bruni Reviews Urbanspoon

IPHONE.JPG

The New York Times food critic Frank Bruni is featuring Seattle's own Urbanspoon guys in today's dining section.

He recently got a chance to try out the new iPhone 3G with GPS technology that's compatible with Urbanspoon's restaurant search engine.

Here's how it works: Once you download a copy, just give your iPhone a shake, and a slot-machine-like readout will appear of restaurant recommendations tailored to where you're located, what type of cuisine you want, and how much you want to spend.

You can see a demo here. And you can download your own version here.

What did Bruni think of the new technology? As Urbanspoon's Patrick O'Donnell tells me, "It reads a little like a one-star review."
