One Closing Sale & One Opening
Re: the closing. A friend forwarded me this Craigslist notice for an estate sale at Qube, whose closing last week made the blogs and the P-I. If you're in the market for rectangular white plates and big stemware, this may be your opportunity, though you'll probably be beat out by some restaurateur.
And the opening: Allison Schiff at Seattle Magazine's food blog reports that Justin Neidermeyer's place on 14th and Pike -- the old Globe -- will open in mere weeks. It will be called Spinasse, not Pancia Piena (as she earlier reported) or Pian Pianino (as Food & Wine reported last year). I'm just happy that it's opening for real.
Other blog reports: My Ballard reports the death of DiVino, the white-and-orange wine bar, and Capitol Hill Seattle notes the pending arrival of Zaw, a new healthy-pizza place in a condo building on 15th and Pine (no, not the Pizza Fusion going into the Trace Lofts). As you can probably get some idea from the website, Zaw's windows have some of the most squirm-worthy marketing copy I've ever read outside a TGIF pasted all over them. Way to read the neighborhood.
UPDATE: See what I'm talking about?
