Anita's Crepes Has a Firm Opening Date: September 15

Anita Ross, who's been traveling around the farmers markets as Anita's Crepes for four years, finally has an opening date on her new Ballard cafe-restaurant: September 15. "We're going to have a grand opening for a week and give away a lot of free crepes," she says. The space is apparently sunny, with lots of windows, and as long as the good weather holds out she has 20-something seats outside, as well as another 14 indoors (which should double as the buildout progresses).

Daytime is all about crepes — both savory and sweet — but at night, Ross is planning on adding a small, ever-changing dinner menu: "I like the haute cuisine, but nothing too stuffy," she says. "I'm thinking foie-stuffed heritage hens, maybe an oyster consomme one moth, crayfish bisque another." Not to worry, market-goers — she's still planning on keeping up her regular market schedule.
