Coming Soon to Bellevue: Restaurants That Don't Suck
The folks that brought us Boom Noodle are opening another Boom in Bellevue Square. Co-founder and owner Steven Rosen tells me they're opening up shop next to Luciano either by the end of this year or early next.
Top Pot is also opening a new store in Belleuve this week. Owner Mark Klebeck says deep-fried goodness will be available this Thursday at 10600 N.E. 9th Place. It'll be the company's first venture on the Eastside.
And last but not least...
...the man behind Purple Cafe & Wine Bar has taken over most of the more than 16,000 square feet in lease space at the new Bellevue Towers to make room for three distinct dining concepts.
The first one will be a fourth Purple Cafe and is slated to open in November. The second will be another Barrio Restaurant (the first incarnation is expected to open on Capitol Hill mid-October) — Mexican cuisine with the oh-so-popular Northwest flair. And the third yet-to-be-named restaurant has been described to me as your typical neighborhood cafe offering fresh baked pastries, espresso, tea, lunch and desserts. The last two restaurants should be in business by early next year.
Other notable restaurants opening in Bellevue: Wild Ginger, El Gaucho and a new steakhouse from John Howie.

How about "Coming to Bellevue: Reviewers Who Don't Think The Eastside Sucks?" Despite the fact that the City of Seattle has only 1/6 of the population in the Puget Sound, reviewers spend 95% of their time covering restaurants in Seattle, and ignoring the rest of the area.
How about coverage that is a bit more balanced?

Your oh-so-snooty tone aside, let me help you out here:
1) Boom Noodle will be joined by Blue C Sushi upstairs at the Bellevue Square location.
2) In September, Main Street in Bellevue will be getting Monsoon East (which will be the owner's dream version of Monsoon, so I guess you guys get the not-dream?).
3) "Mexican flare" is a bonfire. I am sure you mean "Mexican flair."
get over yourselves over there.

Man... Boom doesn't suck but it's awfully middle of the road for Japanese-ish food. Ginza in Bellevue is just off Main and I've generally been happier with what I got there than Boom Noodle. And Monsoon is opening on Main St in Bellevue in the old Porchella place.
And believe it or not, there's actually two other kaiten-sushi places, Sushiland (marginal) and Yama Sushi (average).
And Warren Seta's Yama at the Galleria is decent upscale as well.
And there's also Seastar and O/8.

It's Capitol Hill, not Capital.

We are really excited to start having some of these restaurants open!
It will be nice to have Blue Sushi open to have something a bit more affordable in the Downtown core.
It's a fun time to be in Downtown Bellevue!

Wow Eastsiders, a little self-conscious about your character-less, chain restaurant haven you got out there?
