Espresso Vivace in the Brix Condos Is Now Open

Finally, the long-delayed Brix Condos have polished up the Espresso Vivace space (Broadway between Mercer and Republican), which opened today.

I stopped in today, threading myself through the riot fences and the construction signs to grab a cup and inspect the place. You'll have to go here to see one preliminary photo, because I forgot my camera (bad blogger — I'll try to go back this weekend), but it looks much better than I expected. Sure, the lovely view of Cal Anderson is replaced by the sight of — what else? — another condo construction project, but the owners did a good job of recreating the golden tones and Deco notes of the original cafe on Denny.

And if you hit the cafe on weekends and evenings, you'll probably miss the construction noise, since Brix is still finishing up the rest of the damn building.
