Monday Morning Football: Half-Price Blowout at Southlake Grill

Sundays at Southlake Grill present enough Hawks fans to make it feel like game day but a sufficiently mellow vibe to make a meal enjoyable for a non-football fan. It has lots of windows, unlike many sports bars, so you don't have to feel like you're watching the game in a cave. Best of all, food is half-price on Sundays.

The Game: Hawks 37, St. Louis Rams 13. The Rams are a sad team.

The Players: A collection of Hawks fans of varying levels of enthusiasm. Many left before the game was done. Those wearing Hasselbeck jerseys generally stayed longer. Also, post-game, the bartender delivered an impassioned lipsynch to MIA's 'Paper Planes'.

MVP: Half-price food. The hummus plate's hummus was admirably heavy on the garlic, and our server attentive enough to keep bringing hot pita bread when we ran out. Overall, the food was decent, not great; generous in quantity; and, as noted, half in price.

All this food (and the iced tea) for just $20!

TVs: Two flat screens. Not huge, but visible from almost anywhere in the restaurant.

Beers: Sadly, this Hawks fan was on an iced tea kick, but there were plenty of pints to choose from in the $4-$5 range.

Memorable Moment: The sound of a single Hawk fan clapping as Lofa Tatupu pushed Travis Minor out of bounds to end the game.
