The Buck Is Open for Business

The Buck, 1498 Olive Way, (206) 329-2493

I just stopped by The Buck, a cozy little Capitol Hill place with a classed-up Western theme that just opened last Wednesday. Proprietors Ross McCartney (who also owns Blue and Gaudy, just down the street from the Buck) and Mike Dean are currently undergoing a soft opening, fine-tuning their recipes — the goal is to have a small but delectable menu of house specialties— and I can tell you that the beet salad and thin-crust pizza are both very tasty munchies. They're also testing out an extensive menu of original cocktails. Stop by, try some of their concoctions, and let 'em know what you think. The Buck is open from 5 p.m. to closing, 7 nights a week, with daytime hours beginning sometime in March.
