Lisa Nakamura Leaves Bin Vivant

BIN1.JPG

I just received an email from Lisa Nakamura, chef of Bin Vivant, the wine-themed restaurant in the Woodmark Hotel that I reviewed this week. I thought her smartly conceived food was a good match for the smartly assembled wine list.

As of yesterday, she has left the building.

"I don't know where I am  headed next," she wrote me. I will most likely remain in Seattle, since so-to-be-hubby is also rooted here. I would like to try something outside of the kitchen, possibly."

I wish her all the best in whatever endeavor. In the meantime, I have a call in to the restaurant's management to find out whether they have a replacement named for her, and will post an update here as soon as I learn about it.

UPDATE: Bin Vivant's press rep says that Nakamura's chef de cuisine Scott Lents, who came to the restaurant from the Barking Frog, will step in as head chef.
