Alberona's Pizza Opens in Ballard. Yes, Ballard.

• Just ate at Alberona's Pizza for lunch today. First impression; looks good and price is cheap. Menu advertises Greek and Italian Favorites. For two slices and a bottle of water it came to $4.90 including tax. Slices I got were a veggie with tomato, onion ,and olive and a Mexican with chorizo, onion and jalepeno. Veggie was good. Mexican was a little soggy from chorizo. Could be because it was sitting in the case. Dough and crust are really good. Crust pieces doughy and chewy like Stacia's Pizza. Funny enough, I'm eating and Carlos (owner of La Consupo - Mexican market and taqueria in Greenwood) approaches me asking how everything is. I was honest with him. He owns the place with a guy that worked for Romio's Pizza for 14 years. I guess pizza has room for a taste of Mexico too. *Note: Parking isn't great. Try across the street by Luca Statuary. Delivery is available and they have some great coupon specials on the back of their menu.

• Agree with Jason, Ballard ends at 8th St, or 3rd at some points. http://clerk.ci.seattle.wa.us/public/nmaps/html/NN-1170S.htm But that would take away from a sensational headline =)

• i'd tend to call that area the far edge of fremont. calling it ballard is way too much of a stretch. if anything i'd let you call it fre-lard. but i will agree that the general area has WAY too many pizza places. expect a lot of shuttered businesses in the next year.
