Alberona's Pizza Opens in Ballard. Yes, Ballard.

Pizzastack.jpg

Oho! So you thought Ballard had enough pizza places? So did I, my friends. So did I.  But a tipper just sent news of a sixth new pizza restaurant. Alberona's Pizza & Pasta just set up shop on Leary Way, in the building that used to house Hoki's Teriyaki Hut (which, by the way, was one of Seattle's first teriyaki shops, though its teriyaki traced its ancestry to Hawaii and not Toshi Kasahara, Seattle's teriyaki prophet). The owners weren't in when I called, but the guy I talked to said that, like the name says, Alberona's specializes in pizza and pasta, with mostly Italian food. Check it out and tell me what you think.

Alberona's Pizza & Pasta, 3624 Leary Way, 547-9404, open 11 a.m. -10 p.m. daily.
