Post-Intelligencer: Tribute in Gin

I've got no words about last day of the P-I, my people eulogize with booze; so I offer this:
The Post-Intelligencer
2 ounces Voyager dry gin
Juice of ½ of a blood orange
½ teaspoon Tart is Smart sour cherry juice (from Simply The Best, 1501 Pike Pl.)
A healthy dash of Fee's Old-Fashioned bitters
Shake and strain into a rocks glass filled with ice to lightly water down this bittersweet drink. (Surely newspaper peeps historically prefer brown liquor, but I figured local coverage more important.)

If you are elderly and using the drug you should also remember that it is more likely for you to suffer greater sedative effects, and you may suffer falls if not careful.
