Outdoor Dining: More, More, More

SummerGuide2007.jpg
Three months of direct sunlight, a population with an 85% rate of vitamin D deficiency, hundreds of thousands of bared legs begging for more color. Clearly, my list of 30 restaurants with patios in this week's Summer Guide is just a sampler. No one here wants to sit indoors between June and September, and I can easily think of a half-dozen places that survive based on the money they bank during the summer months.

Double that number to 60 by clipping Maggie's guide to outdoor drinking. Half of her drink spots are just as good for eating (yeah, not you, Chupacabra). The two of us arm-wrestled for the right to claim certain spots on our respective lists, and let's just say only one of us has Michelle Obama arms. (Yet another reason I don't own a tank top.)

Here are a few more outdoor destinations:

BOKA
Both Ways Cafe
Cactus (Madison Valley)
Chandler's Crabhouse
Copacabana
Duke's Chowderhouse (Green Lake, Alki, and Lake Union)
Eastlake Bar & Grill
Ivar's on Lake Union
Ivar's Acres of Clams
Kushibar
La Cosina del Puerco
Le Pichet
Marco's Supperclub
Maximilien (may I recommend the happy hour in particular?)
Nijo
Pegasus Pizza (Alki)
Perche' No Pasta & Vino
Redhook Woodinville Brewery
Rosebud
Santorini Greek Grill
The Slip
Spud Fish & Chips
Thoa's

There are hundreds more listed in our online restaurant guide. In the gray box at the top of the listings, select "Patio/Sidewalk Dining" from the "Features" pull-down menu. Using the pull-down menus to the left of that, you can narrow down your search by neighborhood, cuisine, and price.

Where else do you eat al fresco?
