Hooverville's Back!

hooverville_logo.jpg
Sorry, that headline and exclamation point, perhaps, could mean many things in these trying times. Hooverville, the bar, located in a stretch of SoDo that used to be home to the original Hooverville--the shantytown that grew out of the Great Depression--is open for business again after being devastated by a fire in February. A preferred version to the original, for sure, also free peanuts. ("To All the Whos in Hooverville," June 2009)

(Hooverville, 1721 First Avenue S., 2:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. daily)
