Soak It Up Redux: Homegrown Breakfast Sandwiches
Homegrown started serving breakfast sandwiches this month, and how. The fried egg, bacon, and cheese on brioche should be a hangover requirement. It's a (barely) no-mess one-hander. The stars on the 8:00-11:00 a.m. breakfast menu are definitely the pastrami hash with gruyàre and an egg and the genius that is the turkey and bacon club, which hides a toad-in-the-hole as its middle bread layer. Not only do you get an appropriately gooey egg in most of the sandwich choices, each one comes with a side of oatmeal that's topped with dates, currants, and candied ginger. It's enough to make you want to turn the car around and get back in to bed. (Homegrown Sandwiches, 3416 Fremont Ave. N.)![]()
