Seriously, never go shopping hungry, and don't listen to any of these tracks without a bacon cheeseburger.

"Fat Cats, Bigga Fish," The Coup

Not only is this one of the Coup's best tracks, my favorite verse is dedicated to what it takes for a broke dude to get a free hamburger from a woman with halitosis that's as serious as her amorous intentions.

"The Food," Common

Yeah, yeah. This song isn't really about food. But it is about what must be done to acquire funds with which to buy food. And while this isn't Common's most sophisticated rhyme, it's the refrain that makes the song one of my all-time favorite songs ever.

"Peaches," The Presidents of the United States of America

No list of songs about food would be complete without "Peaches." Millions of peaches, peaches for me...it's one of the most iconic musical double entendres I (we?) can think of.

"Fish in My Dish," Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings

Another fun double entendre from one of modern soul's finest voices, this jam's not as well known as "Peaches," but it should be. When Sharon Jones sings, "I've got a fish in my dish/And I'm feeling fiiiine," it's pretty easy to infer that she's not talking about aquatic life forms.
