1st Look: Dubsea Coffee Opens in White Center
Three days new, Dubsea Coffee (9910 8th Ave. S.W.) flat out wins the crown for most beautiful coffee shop on the western peninsula that is West Seattle and White Center. Stained concrete floors the color of green tea, a deep aquamarine ceiling, tons of natural light and beautiful wood detailing do the also just opened surrounding community proud...
The cafe is the first business to open in the King County Housing Authority's Greenbridge project, an 82 unit phase one public housing complex complete with community center and YWCA. The newest branch of the Seattle public Library is just around the corner. "All the housing units are full, but we thought maybe people didn't know we were here yet. Then opening day was so crowded, and it got busier and busier throughout the day on Sunday," said Cybelle Nguyen a barista at Dubsea. White Center Blog has a wonderful in depth story about the new cafe. Consider the competition on the peninsula, which involves bad wall-to-wall carpeting (really, Uptown? Gross.) and outdoor furniture inside (Come on, Ladro, buy a copy of Dwell). If Dubsea can continue to do their Stumptown coffee proud and exhibit the sweet welcoming behavior as I witnessed today, it will immediately be tops among café choices to the west, as well as an integral part of this new community.

Great article about a great coffee shop! A couple of clarifications:
Greenbridge will actually have close to 1,000 units of rental and for sale housing (not 82). Also, Sibelle Nguyen is the owner of Dubsea.
