Dumpling Dojo is a pop-up dumpling shop located in Siam's old spot at 616 Broadway Ave. E., just waiting for Bank of America to take over the space it's in. As such, the decor is a bit minimal, but the food is worth a visit, whether for appetizers or a more substantial dinner.

Six different fillings--from beef with lemongrass to wild mushroom and leek--stuff Dojo's handmade dumplings, which you can order, as the menu proclaims, "souped or seared." The sesame soy citrus dip is very good, as is the perfectly sautéed baby choy sum with garlic and ginger.

Chef owner Uyen (Wen) Pham says she'll be there for a couple months, but the exact timeline depends on the bank's construction. Dumpling Dojo doesn't have a liquor license (that will come with a permanent spot, which is still in the works), though there are tasty virgin cocktails, including a molasses-y Not So Dark & Stormy.
