Openings & Closings: Italian Restaurants Coming to First Hill and Capitol Hill, Plus Pho and Sandwich News

Buon appetito! Who wants spaghetti? Your first option on First Hill: Vito's, an East Coast-style Italian eatery with a 50's vibe, is scheduled to re-open late this summer. (You may recall it shut down over a year ago.) The Hideout's owner Greg Lundgren is restoring the space; he plans to keep the same menu, but add some live music. Your second option on Capitol Hill: Pasta? (yes, with a question mark) anticipates a June opening at 416 Broadway Avenue, according to Capitol Hill Seattle Blog. The casual Italian joint will include a full bar and if all goes smoothly, outdoor seating.

If you prefer your noodles in a soup base, a new pho restaurant is coming to Pioneer Square. Pho Fuchsia will take over the space formerly occupied by the Art Forte Gallery at 213 1st Avenue.

Lastly, also related to Pioneer Square, the neighborhood's beloved East Coast-style sandwich shop Tat's Deli will have a new home, come Tuesday, May 25. The move is just a couple blocks, from 115 Occidental Avenue to 157 Yesler Way. It entails longer hours of operation, more seating, and a beer and wine menu.
