Want to Win Tickets to the Sold Out Voracious Tasting and Seattle Weekly Food Awards? This is Your Chance
As promised, here I am to give away the first of two sets of general admission tickets to tomorrow night's sold out Voracious Tasting and Seattle Weekly Food Awards. With all the tickets for the event gone, gone, gone, this is now the only way for you to get in the door for you procrastinators who waited 'til the last minute to try and buy tickets.
For this contest, I'm going to test your knowledge of Seattle chefs and restaurants with three questions. First one to get them ALL right will win the pair of will-call tickets for tomorrow's event at the Paramount Theatre. And don't forget: answers (which should be posted below in the comments section) need to come from an actual email address so that I can get back to the winner with the details.
So, are you ready? Here we go...
Question #1: Brian McCracken and Dana Tough, the two chefs from Spur Gastropub (which is one of the restaurants that'll be on the floor tomorrow night handing out samples), worked together at one restaurant in Seattle before they decided to open Spur. Name that restaurant.
Question #2: On the menu at Mistral Kitchen is a simple dish of mashed potatoes which happen to be some of the best mashed potatoes I've ever had. The preparation of these particularly excellent spuds were inspired by a very famous chef who's name appears in the menu description. Name that chef.
Question #3: Recently, chef Jason Stratton was tagged by Food & Wine magazine as one of the best new chefs of the year. Seattle has a powerful history in this annual competition, going back all the way to the very first year that F&W held it. Name the local chef who took home the prize in that first year, his restaurant, and the year in which he won.
