Openings & Closings: West Seattle Gets a Trader Joe's, Downtown Acquires (Another) Swanky Steakhouse, & More

First off, West Seattle is getting its very own Trader Joe's at 4545 Fauntleroy Way SW, a space formerly occupied by a car dealership. But don't hold your breath. It isn't scheduled to open until 2011. Coming sooner is Wing Dome. Jason Sheehan reports that the soon-to-be chicken point at 4523 California Street looks like it will be ready to go by early July.

Over on Capitol Hill, a new corn on the cob stand is now open for business in the garage between Cafe Vita and Bimbo's. Also, Matt Dillon's new venture Bar Ferdinand will open in the Melrose Market at the end of the month and Corkhouse Winery will soon be open for business and selling bottles for $15 or less.

Lastly, some brief bits all over the map: Cafe-grocery store The Icebox is up and running again in Queen Anne. Popular East Coast-style sandwich shop Tat's Deli is slinging subs from its new home at 157 Yesler Way. And yet another swanky steakhouse is coming downtown to 621 Union Street. Sullivan's Steakhouse, a 1940's Chicago-style steak restaurant opens this Saturday, June 19.
