Morning Food News: Capitol Hill Restaurant Owners Fear Street Food Court, Dim Sum Debuts in Wallingford

bangkokstreetfood.jpg
Bangkok is a street food mecca.
Earlier this year, we reported that city planners wanted to change laws so that street venders could set up semi-permanent shops on sidewalks and parks. This sounded awesome to some, sketchy to others. An update from Capitol Hill Seattle indicates that many of the neighborhood's business owners are worried about the increase in competition and trash in the streets. So if you're on Broadway, your best bet for now is still going to be that hot dog stand or Dick's.

In simpler news, Wallingford residents wanting steamed dumplings and tea need only to roll out of bed and stumble to the corner of Stone Way and North 49th Street. Wallyhood reports that dim sum restaurant Bamboo Village opens for business this Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
