Morning Food News: Canlis Offers Free Burgers in Queen Anne, Street Eats Take Over Capitol Hill, & More
Clear your schedule and come with an appetite; two food-fueled neighborhood parties are going down this Sunday.
Quinn's Pub will provide street food at the 12th Avenue Festival.
First off, Canlis hosts a block party at Little Howe Park (1912 Warren Avenue North) from 12 to 3 p.m. You can chow down on free (!) burgers prepared by Canlis staff, plus partake in face painting, tug-o-war, and more. All proceeds will benefit the Queen Anne Farmers Market.
Secondly, Capitol Hill Housing hosts the 12th Avenue Festival (12th Avenue and East Pike) this Sunday from 12 to 6 p.m., according to Capitol Hill Seattle. An impressive selection of restaurants will set up food stands offering $5 specials, including Barrio, Boom Noodle, Cupcake Royale, Lark, Molly Moon's, Quinn's Pub, and Zobel Ethiopian Restaurant.
Lastly, here's a little tidbit for Ballardites: My Ballard reports that a new wine shop and tasting room is scheduled to open next week at 5818 24th Avenue Northwest. Vintner's Annex will offer wine and tastings from five local wineries, including Barrage Cellars and Des Voigne Cellars. Cheers!
