Be Like Barack: Eat Some Shave Ice
President Obama might have had an extremely trying year, but damn, he looks happy sucking on some shave ice on his Hawaiian holiday.
Shave ice is a cousin to the SnoCone, a lighter, fluffier version made by shaving a block of ice and drowning it in sugar-y syrup. Mmmm. It's like a solid form of Kool-Aid.
You're probably not exactly in the shave ice mood this time of year, but should such a craving occur, get your bad self over to Hawaiian Breeze in Wallingford. Not only do they serve onolicious plate lunch and sell a bunch of merch from da islands, they're one of the few places you can find authentic shave ice on the mainland. It's da kine, brah.
