Dick's Drive-In to Face Some Competition on Capitol Hill, Ethiopian Restaurant to Open in West Seattle, and More
Here's a rundown of what was a brief week in restaurant news . . .
Pan African Market is expanding to West Seattle!
First off, in Ballard, a new Thai restaurant called Thai Thani is opening in the former Subway space at 2021 N.W. Market St. on June 1.
Over on Capitol Hill, Lil' Woody's Burgers & Shakes at 1211 Pine St. starts slinging sustainable beef burgers, hand-cut fries, and Molly Moon's milkshakes next month.
And lastly, in West Seattle, Mulegeta Abate, the man behind beloved Pike Place Market eatery Pan Africa Market, is opening a second restaurant in the former Ho-Win space at 5905 California Ave. S.W. Called Pan African Grill, the new establishment will feature traditional East African and Ethiopian dishes. Abate hopes to be open for business in four to six weeks. Also in the neighborhood, Zippy's Giant Burgers has pushed back its opening date yet again because the inspection and permit process is taking longer than expected. Loyal customers can expect, at earliest, business to be back up and running on Tuesday.
