Kenny G's favorite crumpet shop in Pike Place is up and running again!
First off, on Beacon Hill, Bar del Corso is expected to open in the former Beacon Pub space at 3057 Beacon Ave. S. by mid-June. The establishment will serve traditional Italian fare, including small plates, brick-oven pizza, and desserts like homemade gelato.

In the Central District, a new taco truck
, Los Tres Reyes -- that's Spanish for The Three Kings -- is now slinging tacos in the E Z Auto Repair parking lot at 21st and Union. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.

On Capitol Hill, The Confectional is now serving cheesecake at 618 Broadway Avenue East. Hours have not yet been set for the second installment of the Pike Place Market-based bakery, but plans are for it to operate quietly and regularly until its grand opening on June 4. Also in the neighborhood, a sandwich shop is taking over the former Pita Pit space at 1514 Broadway Ave. this month. Grubwich will feature specialty sandwiches, hand-cut fries, and for dessert--still sticking with the theme--ice-cream sandwiches.

Downtown, The Crumpet Shop in Pike Place Market has reopened, following a five-month hiatus during which it underwent repairs, according to Seattle Met. Among the beloved establishment's biggest supporters: SW's Gavin Borchert, who swears it's the best bakery in the city, and super saxophonist Kenny G, who gets his crumpet fix there whenever he's in town.

Over in Fremont, a new frozen yogurt shop
is moving into 3420 Fremont Avenue North. Cool Whirld is aiming for a June or July opening.

In Greenwood, a family-friendly pizzeria is scheduled to open at 7217 Greenwood Ave. N. by the end of August. The Ridge will feature pies named after local businesses, sandwiches, and salads, as well as a full bar. Backing the project are four successful entrepreneurs: a beer distributor and the owners of 10 Mercer, Prost!, and Nickerson Street Saloon.

And lastly, in West Seattle, plans for the much anticipated Trader Joe's at 4545 Fauntleroy Way S.W. are finally moving forward: the construction fence is now up.
