Guess I'm Just a Hash Caramel Snickerdoodles Kind of Dude

Good medicine doesn't have to taste bad.

I found a table full of heaven at the Washington Farmers Market in Olympia last Saturday. OK, let me slightly amend that: I found a table full of heavenly medicated treats.

Kathy Parkins is an exceptional cannabis cook, and her mastery of medibles is evident in all her products. Not only does Kathy take the time to to make her treats as delicious and potent as possible; she also educates patients about the medicinal effects of eating marijuana rather than smoking it.

A wide selection of delicious Cannaceuticals treats was available at five for $20. That's a bargain, as you already know if you've spent much time in local dispensaries, where medibles are more typically $8 to $10 each. Factor in that many of the packages contain two cookies rather than just one, and you've got a real deal on your hands.

This stuff is perfect for medicated munching while watching the tube.

After much enjoyable deliberation, I finally narrowed my choices down to five: Hash Caramel Snickerdoodles (two per package); Pecan Fudge Brownie; regular Snickerdoodles; and two savory TV snacks, Munchie Mix (Chex, Cheerios and pretzels) and "Fish Taco Chex Mix," which, strangely enough, uses Goldfish crackers, rather than Chex, as its main ingredient.

There wasn't a dud in the bunch, but if I must pick a single favorite, it's gonna be the Hash Caramel Snickerdoodles. Taste, texture, and THC come together perfectly in these masterpieces of marijuana munch-dom.

Their sublime combination of sticky, chewy sweetness and satisfying crunch doesn't seem like medication, by any stretch -- and that's the point. "Taking your medicine" doesn't have to be a trial. (I recommend eating both cookies in the package at one sitting, but if you're a novice or have low tolerance, you might want to try just one and wait 45 minutes to an hour to gauge the results.)
