The Digs: Cure is an intimate bar specializing in the understated. Clean lines, natural woodwork and generous windows set the tone in this little gem. Sparkling votives illuminate the tables making for a warm vibe and flattering lighting on typically grey Seattle days and an impressively subdued retreat for grownups on Capitol Hill. The seasonal, regular menu is full of nibbles and small plates that give the experience of sampling at an upscale deli. They also feature a list of well-chosen, complimentary wines offered at a reasonable price.
The Deal: Specials include: $2 off house cocktails, (try the notable Hemingway - rum, fresh grapefruit juice, fresh lime juice & a splash of luxardo served over ice), $5 house Red and White wine, $4.50 cans of Stella and three nosh plates (a mini sandwich, an assorted antipasto plate and prosciutto di parma) for $3 apiece.
The Verdict: Even though Happy Hour runs all week, Sunday afternoon is the perfect time to visit Cure as they offer a "football widow" special - an unbeatable bottle of Bubbles for $12, that when paired with HH deals makes for a cost-effective, early evening out.
