​On Capitol Hill, Regent Bakery and Cafe is now open at 1404 E. Pine St. The second installment of the popular Redmond-based restaurant features Chinese-style pastries and more substantial cuisine like hot pots and chow fun, as well as a full bar. Also in the neighborhood, highly anticipated restaurant Skelly and the Bean has announced plans to open on February 23 at 2359 10th Ave. E. on Capitol Hill. The establishment will feature gussied up comfort food like mussel po'boys, geoduck salad, and house-made tater tots.

In Green Lake, Ben & Jerry's reopens at 7900 E. Green Lake Dr. N. today, while in Greenwood, the Greenwood Market at 8500 3rd Ave. N.W. has closed.

In South Lake Union, The Wurst Place is now open at 510 Westlake Ave. N. The establishment specializes in both traditional and exotic sausage, as well as vegetarian-friendly options.

In other news, Eater Seattle reports that Typhoon! at 8936 161st Ave. N.E. in Redmond has closed. The Portland-based Thai restaurant chain is shutting down all of its remaining locations.

​Avalon Restaurant at 2940 S.W. Avalon Way served its last meal on Friday, after just 13 months of business, according to West Seattle Blog. The restaurant owner cited a decline in business, as well as high overhead costs.

In other news, White Center Now reports that Papa's Pub & Grill at 9635 16th Ave. S.W. has closed.

In other news, PhinneyWood.com reports that the Greenwood Market at 8500 3rd Ave. N.W. has closed. Taking over the space is Fred Meyer. All groceries left were donated to the Greenwood Food Bank.

Lastly, My Green Lake shares that Ben & Jerry's is reopening at 7900 E. Green Lake Dr. N. this Thursday.

​Highly anticipated restaurant Skelly and the Bean has announced plans to open on February 23 at 2359 10th Ave. E. on Capitol Hill, according to Seattle Met. Run by Zephyr Paquette, formerly of Cafe Flora and Elliott Bay Cafe, the establishment will feature gussied up comfort food like mussel po'boys, geoduck salad, and house-made tater tots. Skelly and the Bean will also serve as a space for classes and demonstrations by up-and-coming chefs.


The Veggie Grill Brings SoCal Vegan Fast Food to Seattle, Tequila Bar to Debut in Belltown, & More

SoCal's The Veggie Grill is bringing vegan fast food to Seattle.
​The biggest opening announcement this week: Southern California based vegan chain The Veggie Grill is scheduled to launch two of "many locations" in Seattle by June. The popular eatery features a plant-based menu of American comfort food (think Vegan fast food) including burgers, mac-n-cheese, and wings. Addresses have yet to be announced.

In Belltown, Henry and Oscar's is now open at 2525 4th Ave. The upscale supper club features a martini bar and classic American cuisine like buttermilk chicken and steak. Also in the neighborhood, Mestizo Tequila Ultra Lounge & Grill is taking over the former Twist space at 2313 1st Ave. The establishment will boast over 200 types of tequila, as well as Caribbean and Latin fare. Doors open March 1.

Seattle Pie Company Leaves Magnolia for South Lake Union

​Seattle Pie Company at 3111 W. McGraw St. in Magnolia is now closed, according to Magnolia Voice. But fans of the popular bakery needn't fret. The owners are simply reopening the business on a vessel moored at a commercial dock on South Lake Union. You can expect to see the floating pie company by June.

Tequila Bar to Debut in Belltown, Dish it up! to Close in Magnolia

​Mestizo Tequila Ultra Lounge & Grill is taking over the former Twist space at 2313 1st Ave. in Belltown, according to Eater Seattle. The establishment will boast over 200 types of tequila, as well as Caribbean and Latin fare. Doors open March 1.

In other news, Magnolia Voice reports that the neighborhood's Dish it up! location closes on February 28. Fortunately, its employees and merchandise will be able to move across the bridge to the Ballard store at 5320 Ballard Ave. N.W.
